1. Record in a quiet place
Background noise is the main cause of mistakes. Close windows, turn off fans and keep music low.
2. Keep the microphone close
A microphone near the speaker captures clearer speech than one across the room. A simple headset often beats a laptop microphone.
3. Speak clearly and at a steady pace
You do not need to speak slowly, but avoid rushing and avoid several people talking at once.
4. Choose the right language
If you know the language, select it instead of relying on detection, especially for short clips or mixed-language content.
5. Use a good file
Upload the original recording when you can, instead of a heavily compressed copy.
6. Proofread names and terms
Brand names, people and technical words are the most likely to need a quick fix. Skim the transcript once before sharing it.
7. Export in the right format
Use TXT for notes, Word or PDF for documents, and SRT or VTT for subtitles.
